2016 Your Future Scholarships
Making College Affordable

We are excited to announce a special scholarship program for 2016 made possible through the Good Neighbor Initiative. The Your Future Scholarships are designed to help new students afford college. We encourage all prospective students to apply for these scholarships.

The Your Future Scholarships are awarded only to new students who begin attending California College San Diego between March 23, 2016 and January 11, 2017. Four categories of Your Future Scholarships are awarded:

Full-Tuition Scholarship:


The Full-Tuition Scholarship will cover the entire tuition cost for a student to attend any California College San Diego degree programs. There are 15 Full-Tuition Scholarships available.

Half-Tuition Scholarship:


The Half-Tuition Scholarship will cover 50% of the tuition cost for a student to attend any California College San Diego degree programs. There are 30 Half-Tuition Scholarship available.

Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship:


The Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship is for $5,000 towards the tuition cost for any California College San Diego Bachelor’s degree programs. There are 45 Bachelor’s Degree Scholarships available.

Associate’s Degree Scholarship:


The Associate’s Degree Scholarship is for $3,000 towards the tuition cost for any California College San Diego Associate’s degree programs. There are 45 Associate’s Degree Scholarships available.

Applying for the Scholarships

To apply for any of the 2016 Your Future Scholarships, prospective students should contact California College San Diego. Following are application requirements for each Your Future Scholarship:

Full-Tuition Scholarship


  • Complete and submit the 2016 Your Future Scholarship Application.
  • Submit two unique letters of recommendation from non family members.
  • Write a 500-700-word essay on “How this education will change my life.”
  • Take the Wonderlic SLE-Q test.

Half-Tuition Scholarship


  • Complete and submit the 2016 Your Future Scholarship Application.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from a non family member.
  • Write a 500-700-word essay on “How this education will change my life.”
  • Take the Wonderlic SLE-Q test.

$5,000 Bachelor’s Degree Scholarship


  • Applicant must plan to attend one of California College San Diego’s bachelor’s degree programs.
  • Complete and submit the 2016 Your Future Scholarship Application.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from a non family member.
  • Submit a 500-700-word essay on “How this education will change my life.”
  • Take the Wonderlic SLE-Q test.

$3,000 Associate’s Degree Scholarship


  • Applicant must plan to attend one of California College San Diego’s associate’s degree programs.
  • Complete and submit the 2016 Your Future Scholarship Application.
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from a non family member.
  • Write a 500-700-word essay on “How this education will change my life.”
  • Take the Wonderlic SLE-Q test.
General Details
  • The Your Future Scholarship Awards are available only to new students who begin attending California College San Diego between March 23, 2016 and January 11, 2017.
  • Applicants can apply for more than one kind of Your Future Scholarship but can be awarded only one scholarship by the college.
  • Each scholarship is awarded ratably, by term, over the course of the student’s degree program. A normal term is four months.
  • Scholarship recipients must meet all requirements for college entrance and their program.
  • Scholarships are non-transferable, apply solely to tuition, and never result in a cash payment to students. All scholarships are credited toward tuition charges.
  • To maintain eligibility for the Your Future Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 during his or her enrollment. If the recipient’s cumulative GPA is below a 3.0, he or she will lose the scholarship and all future awards will be cancelled.
  • If a recipient withdraws from California College San Diego or is terminated, he or she permanently forfeits the scholarship.
  • Scholarships are available only to those who qualify, and they are limited in number.
