Dr. Henry Oh Receives Prestigious “Outstanding Achiever” Award

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Henry Oh, who has been recognized for significant achievements as an educator in the medical sciences with the 2017 Outstanding Achiever Award for Medicine and Allied Sciences. Dr. Oh serves as Director of Respiratory Therapy and Dean of Teaching and Learning Excellence at the San Diego campus of California College San Diego.

Prestigious tributes to world-class achievers from the Asia Pacific Region, the Asia Pacific Achiever Awards are organized by the Asia Pacific Awards Council (APAC) and the Who’s Who in Asia Pacific Awards Committee. Dr. Oh traveled to Baguio City, Philippines, last month to accept this honor at the 29th Asia Pacific Excellence Awards. While there, he also presented at the Philippine Respiratory Care Professionals, Inc. Training and Review Center, addressing the “Challenges, Opportunities and Success in Respiratory Therapy Education.”

Aside from being a registered respiratory therapist (RRT), Dr. Oh is a Certified Medical Technologist (MT), a Chartered Biologist (CBiol) in the U.K., and a European Professional Biologist (EurProBiol). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and an Associate Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Oh was recognized as an International Distinguished Scholar in April of 2017, a Master Teacher of Honor by the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in 2013, a Teacher of Honor Distinction in 2010, and a U.S. National Teacher of the Year Honorable Mention in 2007.
